Gouache 148 Artworks

The gouache, is an opaque water-color. It is different from the transparent painting on brilliant papers, if one wants can do applying smooth fields, with precise lines, but normally it is used to produce an effect of brushstrokes with a spontaneous flow.
An identical well gouache must have neither thick fillings nor very thick caps of painting, nevertheless it produces an effect of being thicker than actually is. His luminosity does not depend on the base, if it is white or not, but his sheen is in the same painting. Due to his opaqueness, the clear colors can make up on the dark ones without these appear across the clear ones. In addition, it can stoop in water, giving him a transparency similar to that of the water-color.
